EBook v1.1 for EPOC
-------------------
EBook is an electronic book (etext) viewer. It supports Aportis DOC (sometimes
simply called DOC) formatted documents as used on the PalmPilot
and flat text documents.

Although designed as a book reader, EBook can also be used to view
normal flat text documents such as ".txt" and ".html" files.

Features:
* Supports compressed and uncompressed Aportis DOC (.prc & .pdb) files
* flat text support, i.e. .txt and .html files
* 50 bookmarks per document
* small memory usage, whatever size the document viewed
* online help
* Aportis DOC file recogniser on ER5 handhelds (Revo/S5mx/S7/netBook)
* Aportis DOC style embedded bookmarks
* Horizontal and Vertical text display
* written in C++ for optimum speed
* It's Free!

Please read the LICENSE.txt before using.

Installation
------------
To install EBook just copy the "EBOOK.SIS" file onto your EPOC handheld
and double tap it in the System screen to install it.
An EBook icon will then appear on your "Extras Bar".

Usage Instructions
------------------
Help is supplied with the application.

Creating Aportis/DOC files
--------------------------
I've ported the popular MAKEDOC utility to EPOC which is available on the
homepage of EBook.

This EPOC port requires eshell.exe and STDLIB to run, these are available
in the same location.

There are lots of similar utilities on various platforms to create Aportis files.

Issues
------
* EBook has been designed as a book viewer and the formatting engine was
  designed for top to bottom reading. Formatting of paragraphs can become
  a little messed up when you go backwards.
* Opening EXEs, DLLs, etc may crash the program. Solution...don't!

Changes
-------
v1.1
* Implemented vertical text display. Note that display updates will be slower
  when being displayed vertically as EPOC takes longer to draw text this way.
* Added Aportis DOC style automatic bookmark facility, read the Help file for
  more information.
* Fixed a problem where EBook could lose its place.
* Fixed a rare problem where last words of document weren't being printed.
* EBook is now associated with TXT files on ER5 machines
* Increased max number of bookmarks to 50.

Thanks To
---------
* Rick Bram for Makedoc7.cpp, where I got the Aportis decompression code.
* Fred and Chris at Palmtime for being such helpful chaps.
* Troed for his help with recognisers
